Terms

Last updated 29 October 2026

These terms cover Brightwater, on Android and in your browser, and this website, antiphase.dev. By playing or using them, you agree to these terms. The short version: enjoy the game, keep a backup of your save, and share videos of it as much as you like.

Who we are

Brightwater and antiphase.dev are made by Antiphase Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17544234), whose registered office is at 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ. "We" and "us" on this page mean Antiphase Ltd.

Playing Brightwater

We give you a personal, non-commercial right to play Brightwater on your own devices. Please don't copy, sell or redistribute the game, or pass it off as your own. The game, its art, music and fish, and the Antiphase and Brightwater names belong to us. Its two fonts are used under the SIL Open Font License, which you can read in the game's Settings.

Videos, streams and screenshots

Go ahead. You're welcome to stream, record and share Brightwater, and to earn money from those videos, without asking. A link back to this site is lovely but not required.

Your save

Your progress lives on your own device (see Privacy). We can't see it, so we can't restore it if it's lost. The Help page shows how to keep a backup.

Ads and purchases

Brightwater doesn't show ads or sell anything yet. When a future Android update adds them, Google Play will handle every purchase, and Google Play's refund policy will apply, alongside your legal rights. Coins, fish and anything else you earn or unlock in the game have no money value and can't be exchanged for money. This section will say more before that update ships.

Updates

We'll keep improving Brightwater, which means features may change, move or be retired. We'll always try to keep your save working through an update.

Our responsibility to you

We work hard to make Brightwater good and keep it running, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of bugs. If you play as a consumer, nothing in these terms affects your legal rights, and nothing limits our liability where the law doesn't allow it, such as for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud. Otherwise, we aren't responsible for losses we couldn't reasonably have foreseen.

The law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK or in the EU, you can also bring a claim in your local courts, and you keep any protections your local law gives you.

Changes

If we change these terms, this page will show what changed and when. If a change matters to how you play, such as ads or purchases arriving, we'll post it here before it ships.
